About The Position

A single-parent household in Miami is seeking a highly experienced, education-focused live-in nanny to support the care, routine, and development of her 8-year-old daughter. This is a long-term role best suited for a calm, confident, and emotionally attuned nanny who can serve as a consistent, proxy-parent presence. The family values structure, discretion, and collaboration within the household. This position blends high-level nanny care with educational support and routine-building. The nanny will be deeply involved in the child’s daily structure, including school logistics, homework, self-care habits, and emotional well-being. The role requires sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to take initiative while working respectfully. The accommodations consist of a private bedroom and bathroom. All meals are included, and agreed-upon personal time is respected outside scheduled working hours—clear boundaries between on-duty and off-duty time. Preference will be given to local candidates. Typical Schedule Mornings: Start ~6:30 AM Morning routine, breakfast, preparation for school School drop-off (approximately 45-minute drive each way) Daytime: Child is at school; lighter hours for child-related errands, planning, and downtime Afternoons/Evenings: School pick-up (varies; typically mid-afternoon, usually around 2 pm) Homework support, activities, dinner, and evening routine End of day may range between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, depending on the schedule Days Off: Preferably Saturday and Sunday (flexible by agreement)

Requirements

  • Able to live in and commit long-term
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record, and confident driving in Miami
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain
  • Eligible and willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Must sign and adhere to an NDA and pass a background check
  • Flexible with the schedule
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong understanding of development for children aged 8 to 12
  • Excellent references from private households
  • Willingness to travel for week-long gatherings with broader family (NYC, CT, VT or Switzerland, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore)
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consistent, nurturing, and structured presence for the child
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times
  • Work in close partnership with the child's mother and other full-time nanny/housekeeper
  • Provide attentive care before and after school
  • Manage and reinforce daily routines: Sleep schedules and bedtime consistency Homework completion and academic support Bathing, oral hygiene, and school readiness
  • Provide strong educational guidance: Supervise homework, school projects, and academic organization Encourage reading, writing, numeracy, and general knowledge Weaving learning into daily life in engaging, age-appropriate ways
  • Arrange enriching activities including arts, culture, and outdoor pursuits
  • Promote limited, thoughtful screen use and imaginative play
  • Support healthy habits: Balanced meals and positive food choices Physical and emotional well-being
  • Act as a proxy parent when needed, using sound judgment and discretion
  • Communicate regularly with the parent regarding progress and concerns
  • Child-related housekeeping, organization, and schedule
  • Foster independence, confidence, resiliency, and emotional maturity
  • Model excellent manners, respectful communication, and social etiquette
  • Safely drive the child to and from school and activities, ensuring punctuality and preparedness for all commitments
