About the Team and the Role eBay Live is transforming how sellers connect with buyers through interactive, real-time video commerce. Our mission is to make live selling easy, scalable, and successful for everyone — enabling any seller, brand, partner, or talent to go live through streaming-as-a-service solutions powered by eBay and a network of third-party agencies. The eBay Live Hosting Services & Innovation Lead will be responsible for building and scaling the programs, services, and partnerships that empower sellers and creators to succeed in live commerce. This includes developing hosting services and marketplaces, creating enablement programs that help sellers transition to live streaming, and iterating on new business models and monetization opportunities for eBay Live. This role requires a strategic and operational leader who can identify friction points, design scalable programs, and collaborate cross-functionally across product, marketing, operations, and external partners to build a thriving eBay Live ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of operating experience in e-commerce, creator economy, live streaming, or seller enablement roles – startup operators welcome.
  • Some strategy consulting, banking or similar experience preferred
  • Proven experience building and scaling new programs or services inside existing businesses
  • Strong operational and analytical skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Seller Enablement & Business Transformation Identify key barriers and opportunities in sellers’ shift toward live selling.
  • Design and deliver programs that simplify and accelerate sellers’ ability to go live, including host training, onboarding, and content support.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align enablement initiatives with overall Live Commerce strategy and product capabilities.
  • Hosting Services Development Build and manage a “Hosting-as-a-Service” model — including host sourcing, training, matching, and marketplace management.
  • Develop frameworks and standards for high-quality hosting, ensuring consistent, engaging live experiences for buyers.
  • Create and manage host certification and development programs to expand hosting talent across markets.
  • Creator & Agency Services Establish and manage a network of third-party agencies and creators that deliver live production, content creation, and streaming support.
  • Define service models, performance standards, and engagement strategies for agency partners.
  • Collaborate with agencies to co-develop new live commerce offerings, creative formats, and growth initiatives.
  • Marketing & Content Enablement Oversee the development and delivery of host/seller marketing services, including live content creation, social media amplification, and brand partnership support.
  • Build toolkits and best practices for sellers and hosts to drive visibility and audience growth.
  • Innovation & New Models Pilot and scale innovative live-selling models that expand eBay’s live inventory (e.g., streaming from affiliate groups, streaming-as-a-service, mobile studios).
  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to introduce new features and service offerings that enhance accessibility and seller success.
  • Continuously assess emerging technologies and market trends to inform strategy and identify opportunities for differentiation.
