About The Position

The Server and Hosting Manager provides leadership and technical oversight for server, virtualization, and storage infrastructure supporting 13 State Operated Healthcare Facilities. This position manages a team responsible for maintaining high-availability environments hosting enterprise applications and clinical systems. The role ensures compliance with state security and privacy standards, oversees infrastructure lifecycle planning, and supports disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. The manager collaborates with network, security, application, and helpdesk teams to optimize performance and ensure reliable, secure IT services across all facilities. This position is critical to delivering scalable and integrated hosting solutions that meet healthcare operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design; OR, Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design; OR, High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and eight years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design; OR, An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Expert-level proficiency in managing virtualized environments using VMware and Hyper-V, including configuration, performance tuning, and lifecycle administration for enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in server and hosting operations, including workload prioritization, staff development, and performance evaluation in a multi-site healthcare environment.
  • Advanced skill in implementing and maintaining enterprise backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and compliance with retention and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Proven ability to design and execute infrastructure modernization strategies, including server consolidation, capacity planning, and integration with centralized IT frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in applying HIPAA, NIST, and state IT security standards to server and storage environments, including risk assessment, vulnerability remediation, and audit documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration of virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V to ensure stability and performance.
  • Manage physical and virtual servers, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle replacement.
  • Supervise server and hosting staff, providing workload management, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure roadmaps to support current and future system requirements.
  • Lead modernization and consolidation efforts under the centralized IT model.
  • Oversee enterprise backup and recovery solutions to maintain data integrity and business continuity.
  • Maintain and optimize storage systems, including SAN/NAS configuration, capacity planning, and retention compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NIST, and state IT security standards through risk assessments and documentation.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support hosting, patching, and integration requirements for clinical systems.
  • Serve as an escalation point for infrastructure incidents impacting healthcare operations and coordinate resolution efforts.
