About The Position

This production position works in the live side of the production area processing poultry product. Requires hanging live birds to shackles from the conveyor belt. Usually works five to six days a week; overtime may be required based on production needs.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience in manufacturing/ shipping environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to multitask and work quickly.
• Ability to work with others in a close environment.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Follows all animal welfare standards while handling live poultry in a safe and respectful manner.
• Hang chickens on shackles while abiding by animal welfare policies.
• Must handle birds gently and ensure birds legs are secured within shackles. Involves grasping the chicken from the moving conveyor belt, hanging the chicken by both feet onto a moving shackle line, and then hanging the chicken with the breast out and pull the chicken down into the shackles.
• Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing, and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tag out procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Participates in Company and department safety program(s).
• All other duties as assigned.
