Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Generally, 2+ years of experience in the related field is preferred
  • Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, is required to support 24x7 operation

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other engineers and master control; provide guidance for the execution of master control functions pertaining to live-event execution
  • Coordinate with the master control supervisor to train operators in operational best practices, issue resolution, and recovery of live events
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the operation's technical architecture and on-air systems
  • Resolve issues quickly and effectively to prevent on-air discrepancies
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of all live events, including preparation, in-event execution, and off-air adjustments
  • Actively participate in the operation's change control procedures by approving and maintaining awareness of all on-air maintenance and by managing critical components of maintenance operating procedures
  • Assume transmission responsibilities as needed, including monitoring of uplinks, booking, QCing (monitoring for quality control), and occasional remotes
