About The Position

FlexStaff is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our client, a leading NYS Personal Injury Law Firm in Nassau County. This is an onsite position in Rockville Centre. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience handling labor law workers comp cases as well as premises and motor vehicle cases, from inception through trial. The candidate should also have experience with litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, e-filing and trial preparation. Experience in personal injury litigation is a must. This is a permanent role, Monday-Friday, 100% working on-site.

Requirements

Paralegal Certificate or extensive experience preferred
Excellent communication and organization abilities
Experience using legal database software and tasking system
Microsoft Office experience preferred
At least 2 years’ experience handling labor law workers comp cases as well as premises and motor vehicle cases, from inception through trial.
Experience with litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, e-filing and trial preparation.
Experience in personal injury litigation is a must.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with attorneys to formulate legal arguments, draft documents and pleadings, and prepare motions and other case filings.
Request, examine, and organize medical bills and records.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including coordinating witnesses, preparing jury instructions, conducting voir dire, and organizing exhibits and verdict sheets.
Respond to discovery requests, prepare correspondence, and electronically file pleadings.
Get cases ready for final disbursement.
