About The Position

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is a leading national law firm with over 20 offices in the United States. With approximately 500 lawyers and 1,000 personnel, we are a traditional, yet innovative and diverse Firm and our people are our highest priority. Our New York office is looking for a Litigation Clerk to maintain the firm’s permanent litigation docket and calendar diary and assists with litigation docketing related work. Essential Functions Include: Completes all assigned docketing and calendaring work in a timely and accurate manner. Reviews litigation documents for relevant dates and effectively uses the docketing and calendaring system to index court documents and enter applicable dates. Collects, maintains and updates needed information on attorneys, such as bar admissions and e-filing passwords. Contributes to knowledge management-related initiatives as they pertain to litigation case files, docketing, records management and other similar areas of function within the litigation practice group. Assists with electronic case filing, as well as courthouse hard copy filings and document retrieval. Assists with searching and extracting information from court-related databases, websites and relevant docketing and calendaring applications. Complies with firm administrative procedures and policies. Runs standard reports. Other related responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a law firm is preferred.
