School-based Literacy Coach supports both teacher growth and student achievement. Reports To: Principal FLSA Status: Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in an elementary school Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher and the R2S Literacy Coach or Literacy Specialist Endorsement; OR Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher and is actively pursuing the R2S Literacy Coach or Literacy Specialist Endorsement; OR Holds a master’s degree or higher in Reading or a closely related field and is actively pursuing the R2S Literacy Coach or Literacy Specialist Endorsement Deep knowledge of South Carolina Teaching Standards Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of evidence-based reading research (LETRS, UFLI), quality reading instruction, and a depth of literacy knowledge; Knowledge of effective instructional strategies to support subgroup achievement Knowledge of School Reading Plans Experience in Title 1 setting and/or diverse school community with evidence of impact Knowledge of Montessori philosophy Has knowledge of and the ability to apply adult learning theory within professional learning experiences; effectively communicates, facilitates, and collaborate Has experience coaching and supporting adults and/or mentor certified Ability to work collaboratively with the principal and instructional leadership team to align literacy practices with schoolwide goals Experience with MTSS and supporting intervention at multiple tiers Demonstrated ability to analyze data to inform instruction Has experience in increasing student achievement in reading; Has ability to integrate reading strategies into other content areas Satisfactory background report Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2025-2026 school year. Length of Contract: 190 days, in accordance with the Rock Hill School's adopted calendar. For the 2025-2026 school year, the contract days will be pro-rated based on the approved start date.
