About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a Linux System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area in Colorado. Key Duties : Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux-based physical and virtual machines supporting the Missile Defense Space Center. Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman, and maintain multiple repositories and registries. Perform and oversee operating system hardening and ensure STIG compliance. Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to maintain system administration and compliance standards. Manage and delegate tasks related to projects, sustainment activities, and system break/fix efforts. Mentor and lead a team responsible for system software installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity mitigation efforts. Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation. Create, upgrade, manage, and sustain physical and virtual workstations. Ensure resumes include month and year for all employment history; candidates may be assigned to a teammate company.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 5 or more years of directly related experience with Unix and/or Linux system administration.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in any IT or STEM discipline.
  • Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment.
