About The Position

We are currently seeking a network support administrator with 5 years of configuration and troubleshooting experience in small to mid-size Local Area Networks. The ideal candidate will also have 3 years of Linux OS network administration and troubleshooting experience. This is a Level 3 support role working as a technical escalation point for retail store network administration, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Experience with Linux OS networking (CLI) is required to be successful in this position. In this role you will provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues associated with our customer store networks – including LAN switches and routers, Firewalls , VoIP services, SD-WAN and VPN related issues. This is a customer-facing role and you must be comfortable working directly with our clients and providing technical guidance for the support team and field techs. Experience with retail store or restaurant technologies and Point Of Sale systems is a strong plus - but is not required. NOTE: This is a full-time in-office position. Remote work is not an option for this role.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting small to mid-sized Local Area Networks
  • 5 years of Layer 2 (Switch) and Layer 3 (router) management and troubleshooting experience
  • 4 years of Layer 1 Physical Ethernet cabling connectivity and troubleshooting experience
  • 3 years of Linux OS network configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • 3 years of working with firewall troubleshooting (IP, Protocol and port based rules) experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field of study or 8 years of IT work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with asterisk based VoIP PBX
  • Experience with network health monitoring tools like Icinga, Nagios or Zabbix
  • Experience with BASH or Python scripting

Responsibilities

  • Configuration and troubleshooting of SymplyFi Linux based network hardware and software services installed in retail store locations
  • Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution of complex cabling, network connectivity, switching, routing and firewall issues at remote branch locations
  • Configuration, management and support of Local Area Networks, Firewalls, WiFi, VoIP and network services including: DNS, DHCP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, VPNs and VoIP
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to remote field service techs as well as L1 and L2 support techs
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support to meet 24/7 operational requirements
  • Help maintain technical issue resolution process documentation, deployment templates and knowledge base articles
