About The Position

Linux Engineer The Opportunity: As a cyber warfare engineer, you know how critical it is to stay ahead of evolving threats by identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities before adversaries can. At Booz Allen, you'll bring that expertise to a mission-focused team where you'll use your understanding of cyber operations to apply emerging technologies, uncover system and network vulnerabilities, and design tools that support real-world cyber missions. In this role, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team working to develop a Cross Domain Solution ( CDS ) . You must be comfortable with the design and implementation of cybersecurity policies in Linux such as operating system hardening and application of cryptography which meet client requirements. You will utilize experience configuring SELinux and creating new SELinux policies for developed application. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience hardening Linux operating systems in accordance with U.S. government standards such as STIGs or FIPS
  • Experience with shell scripting
  • Experience with risk management framework ( RMF ) and mitigating cybersecurity threats
  • Ability to apply additional hardening techniques bey ond STIG requirements such as isolating processes to limit device compromise
  • Ability to design and implement user or group account schema
  • Ability to design and implement discretionary access control ( DAC ) to limit sharing of information
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or Sof tware Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying hardening at scale via infrastructure as code such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
  • Experience with automated testing tools to verify cyber requirements are correctly implemented such as Chef InSpec
  • Experience creating Security Enhanced ( SE ) Linux policies and configuring SELinux
  • Experience working with cryptography
  • Knowledge of Cross Domain Solutions ( CDS )
