Lineman Summer Intern
About The Position
Citizens Electric Corporation is looking for a motivated College Lineworker Intern to join our Operations team for hands‑on experience in electric utility linework. This internship is ideal for students enrolled in an electrical lineworker, construction, or technical career program who want real‑world exposure to the field. What You’ll Do: Assist with installation and maintenance of distribution and transmission lines Learn to work with poles, transformers, conductors, and related equipment Support crews with material handling, vehicle and tool care, and ground operations Learn to read staking sheets, maps, and basic electrical diagrams Practice safe work procedures, first aid basics, and utility safety standards Observe and assist with outage response and field operations (as appropriate) What You’ll Gain: Hands‑on, supervised field experience alongside skilled linemen Exposure to industry equipment, construction techniques, and utility operations Training aligned with professional apprenticeship standards Experience that strengthens employability in a journeyman lineworker career path What We’re Looking For: Active enrollment in a college or technical lineworker program Interest in electrical systems, construction, or utility work Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work outdoors in all weather Ability to lift heavy materials and work safely as part of a team Valid Class A driver’s license required Join us to build foundational skills for a future career as a lineman and make a meaningful impact in your community.
