About The Position

The Line Maintenance Level III Mechanic (R66) performs maintenance on helicopters, including repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have five years of aircraft experience with turbine powered rotary wing aircraft. All experience must be within the ten most recent years.
  • Valid up-to-date FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machines, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
  • Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to travel for R66 TDY assignments as required for mission needs.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this site.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
  • Experience with Robinson R66 aircraft is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
  • Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.
  • Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
  • Perform limited maintenance operational checks and assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
  • Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
  • Remove and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.
  • Maintain the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform supervisory duties over Aircraft Mechanic I and II personnel, as required.
  • Perform additional duties, including maintenance duties, as assigned.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety programs (safety-first mentality)
