We are hiring for a FIRST SHIFT - Line Lead in our Packaging Department Hours are: 5:30am - 2:30pm (with some mandatory OT) The Line Leader is responsible for assisting the Packaging Department supervisor in overseeing the production team's activities. Will provide the supervisor with input on the employee's counseling and performance evaluations. Additionally, will assist the supervisor with the day-to-day production process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the staff meets their production, quality, and safety goals. In the absence of the department supervisor, the Leader will assume their duties. Responsible for assisting the supervisor on all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery such as the bagger, VC999, Shrink Tunnel, Peeler, Roll stock, Grasselli Slicers, Spiral Slicers, Band Saw, Cubing Machine, Box Tapers, Metal Detectors, Scales, Pallet Jacks, & other production-related machinery. Must be consistent & reliable in attendance. Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understand all aspects of company recipes. Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems. Must be able to work/train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment. Must be able to engage and motivate the production team while setting a professional example. Must be able to report to management staff on safety, quality, productivity, and attendance issues from employees. Operate machinery & plan staff scheduling/rotation/tasks. Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
