About The Position

Retirement Community in the foothills of Golden, CO is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dietary Department. Must love working with the elderly. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the department. High school diploma or equivalent and must pass a background check with no drug charges. Must be flexible with hours. We are currently seeking an experienced energetic, highly motivated, and passionate Cook to work with our team of experienced culinary experts. Under the direction of our Executive Chef, you will work with a team who generate over 10,000 incredible meals a month. We cook and bake most items from scratch. Creative culinary passion is a must. Are you the right person? If so, your qualifications should include: Must be available for the Full-Time Line Cook Schedule. Sunday -Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday 8 hour shifts. Minimum of two years’ experience in quantity food production. Ability to operate all types of quantity food service equipment with demonstrated competency on a minimum of five (5) pieces of production equipment. Ability to manage time independently. General knowledge of cooking temperatures, specifically for meat and seafood Meet the following physical requirements: ability to lift 50 pounds, carry 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling 95 pounds of force. Maintains high standards for self and others. Team player Positive attitude - Graduation from an accredited culinary school or equivalent experience. - The ability to quickly solve problems in a fast-paced environment. - Experience in a fast-paced large kitchen with multiple cooks working together. - Work well within a team. - Strong oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal communication abilities. - Available most shifts, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility for all shifts as needed - The desire and ability to have fun at work. Must pass a criminal background check, must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to fifty pounds as needed and have a schedule open to working when the job requires. Responsibilities

  • Preparing Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner for residents and staff
  • Maintaining kitchen sanitization according to state regulations
  • Prepping and preparing for the following shifts
  • Interacting and engaging with Senior Residents
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean and maintain stations in practicing good safety and sanitation.
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.
