About The Position

Our Cooks at Magnolia Glen are responsible for providing the highest quality and presentation of food to residents, guests, and associates, fostering an excellent restaurant-style dining atmosphere. This is a part-time position, typically working Friday through Monday for 25-28 hours weekly, with varied hours as dining closes by 8:30 PM. The role involves assisting in the production of creatively designed cuisine, cooking according to menus and recipes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. The position also requires timely delivery of invoices to the Dining Services Director and maintaining records of meals served and supplies used.

Requirements

  • High school graduate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of cooking experience required
  • Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to fully support kitchen brigade associates
  • Demonstrates understanding of Mise en Place through proper placement and preparation of ingredients
  • Must have Food Handler’s certification as required or being willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen and food preparation in a clean and sanitary manner
  • Deliver all invoices to Dining Services Director in a timely fashion
  • Maintain records or meals served and records of food and supplies used as required
