Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian, one of their establishments, offers a modern dining experience with timeless taste, featuring fresh, scratch-made dishes inspired by Italian regions, including house-made pasta, artisan bread, and sustainably sourced seafood. As a Line Cook at Velvet Buffalo, you will be a key part of the team, responsible for ensuring consistent quality food and a memorable dining experience for all guests. Your role involves working collaboratively to continuously improve the guest experience.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills required, must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer
  • Legible handwriting, and strong customer service and oral communication skills
  • Able regularly to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Able to lift, carry, and deliver boxes and items that may weigh up to 50 pounds
  • If over 18, able to use slicers and heavy equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • U.S. Work Authorization

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of Kitchen experience

Responsibilities

  • Know and understand every item on the menu (including portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules)
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Work closely with the Chef to provide absolute consistency on every plate
  • Work on timing to get every ticket out in an appropriate amount of time
  • During prime service hours, stay focused on designated tasks
  • Communicate consistently with co-workers
  • Practice safe knife handling; if training is needed, see the Chef
  • Always look for ways to be productive when there is time to spare
  • Open/close the kitchen properly and follow the opening/closing checklist for kitchen stations
