About The Position

The Marriott Syracuse Downtown is seeking a Line Cook I to join the team at the fine dining 11 Waters restaurant. This role involves leading kitchen work, assisting the Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in preparing, cooking, and supporting kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will possess a self-starting personality, maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively with guests, and be a team player willing to assist co-workers. Adaptability to changes in the work area and hotel procedures, a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to solve routine problems are essential. Every associate is expected to act as a guest relations ambassador. Requirements

  • Fine dining experience required
  • Knife & light butchery skills required
  • Possess a self-starting personality with an even disposition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times

  • Adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures

Responsibilities

  • Lead the work of the kitchen in assisting the Sous chef and or Executive Sous Chef in preparing, cooking and supporting the kitchen staff.
  • Inspects, selects and uses food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items.
  • Ensure food to order items for customers/guests are in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
  • Date all food containers and rotate.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
