About The Position

The Lighting Supervisor will work with the Director of Production and the Lighting Designer to plan and execute modifications to our rep plot in order to realize the designs for the Wolf Trap Opera’s summer season in the Barns at Wolf Trap. The Lighting Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring the lighting desk is programmed and staffed during our short performance runs. This position requires nights and weekends dependent on the show schedule.

Requirements

  • Firm understanding of theatrical lighting equipment and safety
  • Familiarity with ETC EOS family of consoles
  • Demonstrated experience with theatrical lighting
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the rep plot
  • Work with the Lighting Designer to modify the rep plot for each Opera’s needs
  • Manage Lighting Budget and report to the Director of Production
  • Program and run the ETC EOS based console for performances
  • Help to maintain a clean work area at the Barns stage
  • Mentor the Lighting Apprentice
  • Assist stage crew with load in and strike
  • Restore the rep plot after strike
  • Provide lighting support for other recitals and events as needed
