BASIC FUNCTION: The Light Equipment Operator will operate tractors, trailers, power attachments, and other landscaping or grounds maintenance equipment and machinery. VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS: Working Location: Various sites within the District The District covers a large portion of San Diego County. The area(s) you identify in your application will be used for any future vacancies filled using the eligiblity list from this recruitment. Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week. Salary: This position is paid on the Operations-Support Services Salary Schedule, Grade 037. To view the Salary Schedule, click HERE . Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents. Vacancies that require the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish will be noted. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential. Requirements

• Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of recent, full-time equivalent, paid experience in the operation of tractors, power attachments, and related equipment.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license with a Classified A rating.
• Must obtain air brake certification within six months of employment.
