A typical day looks like: Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and medium duty pickup trucks, with a focus on GM Trucks. Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and DOT Inspections. Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Upfit vehicles according to customer specifications, including installing aftermarket accessories, lift kits, lighting systems, and utility racks. Follow manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications for repairs, service procedures, and upfitting. Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and upfitting work performed on vehicles. Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues, repair options, upfitting choices, and estimated costs. Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in light and medium duty pickup trucks, particularly GM Trucks.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in upfitting vehicles with aftermarket accessories and modifications is highly desirable.
  • Certification from a recognized automotive training program or equivalent experience is preferred.
