About The Position

Must have the ability to prep parts and perform duties to pre-assemble a limited number of parts and components for a variety of products at various work stations through-out the light bar area. Must possess knowledge of reading prints, reading schedules and have the ability to build prep parts and assemble parts using variety of hand tools and other related fixtures. Must be able to fill out proper paperwork and make computer system transactions. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Experience with light mechanical and/or electrical assembly
  • Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, riveters, presses and crimping tools
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and sound judgement
  • Ability to prep parts and perform duties to pre-assemble a limited number of parts and components for a variety of products at various work stations through-out the light bar area.
  • Possess knowledge of reading prints, reading schedules and have the ability to build prep parts and assemble parts using variety of hand tools and other related fixtures.
  • Ability to fill out proper paperwork and make computer system transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-prep assemblies for light-bar builders as well as build, test assemblies, and pull parts for service orders.
  • Assemble a limited number of parts or components such as brackets, receptacles, reflectors, seals, simple drive mechanisms and similar units.
  • Make electrical connections, with solder, rivet, stake or press to secure parts for variety of different products where sequence of operations is generally prescribed through standard work instructions.
  • Work from schedules, shop orders, product/process spec sheets, standard work instructions, record production data, read blueprints and test instructions which are written or on computer.
  • Review production schedules for specific periods of time and arrange parts for builders, store and retrieve materials, parts, and supplies in different storage locations.
  • Accumulate and move items between storage areas and work cell using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to use and understand various computer screens to check a part's bin location, flow manufacturing, complete cycle counts, status of material, production orders, release production orders, change due dates, fill out part requisitions, finished good tickets, monitor inventory levels of finished good items, etc. Must be able to fill out non-conforming ticket and process non-conforming material disposition (including deleting components out of inventory in computer system).
  • Use hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, microcomputer, fax machines, riveters, and presses. Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning, oiling, inspecting, and minor adjustments) on equipment in the work cell.
  • Train new and existing employees how to effectively work within the department, instruct them in all facets of the work cell operation.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work cell area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform all related duties as required.
