About The Position

Lift Operations staff play an important role in the daily business at Swiss Valley. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the safe uphill transport of all guests, by monitoring the safe loading and unloading of the lift, and confirming all guests have a valid lift ticket via our entry gates. Lift Operations staff members should have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with the public, and be able to use simple technology systems. The Swiss Valley staff works as a team, so you may also assist other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 11/1/2025 to apply.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • All employees age 18+ will complete a background check upon hire.
  • Lift Operations staff should be ready to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Lift Operations staff must be able to walk on varied ground surfaces, shovel snow, and be on their feet for most of their shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to work early/late shifts, weekends, and Holidays (Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, New Years Day, MLK Day, President’s Day) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of lifts at lift entry points, including maintaining ramps, keeping the working area free of hazards, using speed controls and stopping the lift when necessary to assist the guest while loading and unloading.
  • Customer Service: The Lift Operations staff are in constant communication with our guests, and are expected to provide a positive experience for visitors. All staff must communicate clearly, while maintaining composure in complex situations, and be welcoming when assisting guests. Lift and gate operators are expected to be ambassadors for Swiss Valley and abide by the code of conduct.
  • Communication: Keep accurate lift logs, use radios, tablet devices and telephones to communicate with other staff and managers about safety concerns as needed. Be able to work well in a team environment with other lift attendants, gate operators, and managers.
  • Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-operation inspections, clean equipment, and ensure all devices are in proper working order before and after use.
  • Crowd Control: Organize guests in lines and manage traffic during high-volume periods to keep a safe and orderly flow of guests moving to the loading area. May also assist with lift ticket issues at the controlled access points while mitigating the crowd.
  • Professionalism: Behave professionally and maintain a positive attitude, while abiding to the code of conduct established at Swiss Valley.
