About The Position

Anakeesta is an award-winning mountaintop adventure park dedicated to delivering safe, memorable outdoor experiences in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Lift Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all lift systems across the park. This hands-on leadership position oversees daily lift maintenance activities, supports a team of skilled technicians, and ensures compliance with all safety regulations, manufacturer standards, and internal maintenance protocols.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining lift systems, ropeways, or similar conveyance equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in maintenance or technical operations.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations, inspection requirements, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, at heights, and in a physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of lift maintenance, ski lift, aerial tram, or ropeway maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, ASTM, or state/federal lift safety standards.
  • Technical certifications or manufacturer training related to lift systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the Lift Maintenance team, including scheduling, task assignments, and workflow prioritization.
  • Ensure all lift systems are inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and Anakeesta safety standards.
  • Lead and participate in preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Monitor lift performance and respond quickly to operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure guest safety.
  • Train, coach, and mentor lift maintenance technicians, promoting skill development and safety awareness.
  • Enforce all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Safety, and Engineering teams to support park opening, peak operations, and special events.
  • Assist with inspections by regulatory agencies, third-party inspectors, and manufacturers.
  • Support seasonal startup, shutdown, and major maintenance projects.
  • Participate in on-call or emergency response rotations as required.
  • Assist with parts inventory management and maintenance planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support park operations.
