About The Position

Are you a proficient swimmer and enjoy the camp environment? Pinebrook is looking for Lifeguards to join the summer team! Spruce Lake Ministries encourages persons from a variety of traditions to a deeper faith in God through Jesus Christ. In this peaceful setting in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania, Spruce Lake and Pinebrook provide Christian church, family and corporate groups with lodging, meeting spaces and meals for their next event or retreat. Pinebrook also offers summer Day Camp. A Lifeguard (LG) is responsible for the direct supervision of the pool and boats. LGs is responsible to assist with cleaning/maintenance of the pool area in consultation with the Pool Manager (PM).

Requirements

Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Must affirm, live, and model Spruce Lake mission, vision, statement of faith and core values.
Conducts him/herself in a manner that is above reproach.
Current American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent), including CPR for Professional Rescuer. This can be updated at our lifeguarding class in June.
Demonstrate maturity and responsibility in performing duties of a lifeguard.
Must be at least 15 years of age.
Ability to meet and maintain physical requirements to pass the ARC lifeguard test.
Spruce Lake Ministries, Pinebrook or Spruce Lake, does not currently hire anyone who is not authorized to work in the US, nor are we able to sponsor international employees or volunteers.
At the employer's expense, all employment hires are contingent upon completion of FBI Criminal Background fingerprint clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance and PA Criminal History Clearance.
