About The Position

Purpose of a lifeguard is to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over.

Requirements

• Current lifeguard training certificate (including First Aid, AED, CPR for Professional Rescuer) from American Red Cross or equivalent nationally recognized organization.

Nice To Haves

• High School Equivalent / GED
• Previous lifeguard experience.
• Working knowledge of pool filtration systems
• Water Safety Instructor certification

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe environment.
• Ensuring safety of staff, members and guests in pool area.
• Maintaining safe environment at all times, keeping pool deck dry, clean, and clear of obstacles.
• Performing water tests on pools and spas at specified times. Report any problems to supervisor or building manager immediately.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Complying with all policies and standards.
• Abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
