Job Summary Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities. Essential Functions This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. Service Work (95%) Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving CPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the pool area; collects/disposes of trash; maintains neat and orderly pool office. Other Responsibilities (5%) Performs other related work as required. Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) Working Conditions Work is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with humidity, heat, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
