About The Position

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of Club members and guests by providing a safe and clean environment, while preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are also responsible for maintaining a positive member experience through the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age by start date
  • Demonstrates leadership, customer service and decision-making skills
  • Attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in process of unsafe behaviors
  • Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
  • Administer First Aid, CPR, and other emergency safety procedures, as required
  • Proficient swimming ability
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Greensboro, NC 27408: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Lifeguard: 1 year (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lifeguards must always be ready for any potential risk in the water.
  • Employees are expected to be equipped to react immediately when the occasion arises.
  • You must be prepared to respond to an immediate situation in the pool.
  • Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and maintenance of the pool during the scheduled working hours.
  • Each guard will position himself/herself while on duty so that the pool can be observed while maintaining maximum vision of swimmers.
  • Lifeguards are excepted to maintain a high standard of customer service, extending exemplary service to all members and their guests, including promotion of aquatic programs, such as swim team and swim lessons.
  • Lifeguards are responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the general pool area and are expected to perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Each employee is expected to always conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, be courteous and respectful to Club members and fellow staff members.
  • Report any problems to the Aquatics Manger and appropriate Shift Leader immediately.
