About The Position

JCC Denver is a vibrant community hub dedicated to connecting, building relationships, and enhancing our members' overall health and well-being. With over 100,000 square feet of space, we offer high-quality programming for all ages, including fitness, wellness, aquatics, childcare, summer camps, and much more. The JCC Aquatics Center provides access to indoor and outdoor pools year-round, with approximately 85 hours of operation a week.

Requirements

High school education or comparable work experience.
Valid CPR certification.
Valid standard First Aid certification.
Valid Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of all swimmers by preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.
Enforcement of all pool rules and regulations in a polite and courteous manner.
Provide quick response to emergency situations in the water/deck area.
Conduct ongoing maintenance: adjust feeders, when necessary, check the operation of the pump and flow meter, vacuum the pool, wash down the deck and pump room, clean stainless steel and filters, record pool readings, etc.
Be knowledgeable on all aquatic information and programming.
Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.
Be timely and punctual when reporting to work.
Ensure the aquatic area is safe, clean, and orderly.
Other duties as assigned.

NOTE: There are both part-time and full-time positions for this role. This posting is for a full-time position.
JCC Denver contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The Center proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits-eligible employees. Additional voluntary benefit plans are also available.
JCC Denver offers a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. JCC Denver matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.
Paid Time Off (PTO) is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of PTO in their first year of service. JCC Denver also provides paid holidays and up to 4 additional “Floating Holidays” per year, prorated based on the date of hire.
