About The Position

Assists the Director of Aquatics & Youth Activities in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for the Menlo Circus Club’s pool, swim team, summer campers, and Membership Assists fellow recreational staff: coaches, lifeguards, and camp counselors and organizes small or large group activities Mains order of swim office, pool deck, locker rooms, and storage areas and kindly enforces Club and pool rules Promotes a safe and fun aquatics and camp environment handles first-aid and responds to any emergencies Helps develop daily, weekly, and seasonal plans for swimmers and campers of all age groups Teaches swim lessons assists with other youth programming and assists with childcare when necessary Becomes a knowledgeable resource to Members regarding all youth activities and events Promotes team effort and maintains a positive and professional approach Interacts positively and professionally with all staff and members Balance promoting technical skills, aerobic development, and fun Helps at swim meets and various Club events This is a seasonal part-time position and scheduled in 4-5 hour shifts - Monday-Sunday 9:00 am - 6:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and/or Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to train, mentor, and supervise Club youth
  • A great sense of team spirit, fun, energy and professionalism
  • Must be at least 16 years old and have a permit to work

Nice To Haves

  • Swim/Tennis/Sport team experience preferred
