Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of formal training in an approved Life Safety program at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization.
5 years related work experience. The full-time equivalent spent in an approved program may count toward the 5-year work experience requirement.
Knowledge of approved firestop systems, metal stud framing, drywall, caulking, patching, taping and caulking techniques, procedures and materials.
Extensive knowledge of building codes and fire codes.
