This is a skilled position working to install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must successfully complete CBT training and BBSO.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • JM Forklift certified
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting by use of testing equipment and other measuring techniques.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
  • Make adjustments to functional parts of equipment and control systems.
  • Manage downtime by coordinating with production department personnel on routine preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Conserve resources by the efficient use of equipment and supplies needed to achieve results.
  • Understand how to operate controls.
  • Operate forklift.
  • General welding
  • Always uses safe work practices follows all safety rules and procedures, immediately reports any hazardous conditions, and fully participate in safety programs.
  • Perform safety observations and complete training assignments.
  • Wears all personal protective equipment as required by management, including but not limited to protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, dust mask or respirator.
  • Performs other duties as directed
  • Must be able to adapt to shift work and work as needed on breakdowns if they occur
  • May be asked to work over or cover shifts in the event of vacation or repairs to machinery
