About The Position

The Life Enrichment Assistant, also referred to as an Activities Assistant by other organizations, plays a pivotal role at Brandywine by Monarch Communities in Voorhees, NJ. This position is dedicated to enriching the lives of residents by fostering an active and vibrant community. The assistant will engage with residents to understand their preferences and contribute to the planning and execution of diverse programming, encompassing spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional aspects. Key duties include promoting and communicating upcoming events, actively participating in activities such as games, painting, singing, and music, and utilizing digital platforms like social media, email, and newsletters to highlight daily happenings. The role also involves logistical support for events, including setup and breakdown, and may require driving the company vehicle for resident transportation for individuals aged 21 or over. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Physical fitness to assist with activities and mobility support
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Active Driver's license in good standing (for driving company vehicle)
  • Ability to quickly connect with people and a love for learning about them
  • Positive attitude and a lot of energy
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
  • Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of senior care or recreational activities
  • Talents as a singer, dancer, artist, poet, historian, or trivia expert

Responsibilities

  • Get to know the residents of the community to understand their preferences and needs.
  • Help with the planning and implementation of spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional programming.
  • Promote and communicate upcoming community events and activities to residents.
  • Participate actively in various resident activities such as games, painting, singing, and music.
  • Help organize and run community events and activities.
  • Utilize social media, email, and newsletters to showcase the fun things happening each day.
  • Occasionally drive the company vehicle to transport residents to and from events (for those 21 or over).
  • Help set up and break down events and activities.
