Responsible for organizing and implementing activities for residents in our rehabilitation neighborhood. The Life Engagement Specialist develops, plans, and implements a variety of engaging activities and events that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for our seniors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with older adults and a commitment to creating an environment that fosters dignity, respect, and enjoyment for all residents.

Requirements

  • All candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • possess a SC Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with at least two years experience in activity programming for older adults is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Plan Activities : Design and organize daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
  • Facilitate Group & Individual Activities : Lead group activities (e.g., games, exercise classes, art, music, crafts) and one-on-one engagements (e.g., memory stimulation, storytelling, or personal hobbies).
  • Promote Socialization : Create opportunities for residents to engage socially with peers, family members, and the broader community.
  • Coordinate Special Events : Plan and execute special events, celebrations, outings, and holiday programs that enhance the residents' experience and foster community connections.
  • Monitor Resident Engagement : Assess residents' participation and adjust activities as needed to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
  • Collaborate with Team Members : Work closely with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to ensure that activities meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of the residents.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and individual resident preferences.
