About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and licensed therapist that will provide individual and group therapy to clients dealing with a variety of mental health, behavioral, and emotional challenges. This role requires strong therapeutic skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and a passion for helping youth achieve emotional stability and life skills.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or other appropriate therapeutic licensure in the state of [State].
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a therapeutic setting, preferably in residential treatment or a related environment working with youth.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex behavioral and mental health issues, including trauma, substance use, and emotional disturbances.
  • Knowledge of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches such as trauma-informed care and TST-FC.
  • Technical Capacity. Able to use computer systems with effectiveness and efficiency. Knowledgeable with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
  • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility. Works with others to maintain a level of effectiveness and credibility. Works projects through to completion with a strong attention to detail.
  • Collaboration Skills. Able to collaborate with a team on tight deadlines. Identifies needs and assists in coordinating efforts to meet the needs of the office. A team player.
  • Communication Proficiency. Effective and calm communicator. Able to handle stress with grace and patience. Able to adjust to a fast-paced work environment with multiple projects. Able to manage stress in a manner that does not add additional stress to the work environment.
  • Business Acumen. Has professional knowledge of governmental and child placing agencies within the state of Texas. Has strong written and oral communication skills. Communicates with families and individuals from a variety of backgrounds and values with ease and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to residents, utilizing evidence-informed therapeutic modalities to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at skill-building, emotional regulation, and behavioral change.
  • Assess the psychological and emotional needs of each resident and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Conduct intake assessments, risk assessments, and ongoing evaluations to track resident progress.
  • Work closely with the clinical team, including case managers and medical staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Azleway’s administration and treatment team about resident progress, challenges, and updates.
  • Act as a resource for staff, offering guidance and training on mental health and behavioral issues affecting the residents.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of all therapy sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with facility policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure that all documentation meets the standards set forth by state and federal regulations, licensing agencies, and the facility.
  • Prepare and participate in case reviews and treatment planning meetings, providing comprehensive reports on each resident’s therapeutic progress.
  • Respond to and manage crises effectively, de-escalating situations involving emotional distress, aggression, or behavioral issues.
  • Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support during high-stress situations or emergencies.
  • Participate in creating and implementing crisis intervention plans for residents who require additional support.
  • Adhere to all relevant ethical guidelines, professional standards, and confidentiality requirements as set by licensing boards and the facility.
  • Keep up-to-date with current best practices, research, and legal requirements in the field of mental health and therapeutic services.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding treatment and care.
  • Empower children to set and achieve personal goals, fostering self-efficacy and preparing them for independence.
