About The Position

The Tax Professional for Optima Tax Relief, LLC ("Optima") is located in the Santa Ana, California office and reports directly to the Director, Resolution. This role is responsible for establishing contact with tax agencies and updating members' case files. It supports Optima's servicing teams in identifying members' tax liabilities and analyzing the best possible resolution options. The Tax Professionals team is organized into five units: ACS, Audit, Offer-In-Compromise, Revenue Officers, and State. Each unit is comprised of specially trained staff equipped to assist membersexperiencing varying levels of tax issues. This role must also champion Optima’s culture and Core Values and help lead the department to deliver the best customer experience. In order to be provided the essential training required to be successful in this role, it is mandatory that you are present for and complete all essential/initial training onsite for up to 5 business days (unless prior management approval is provided). Please note that additional onsite training may be required depending on business need.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • EA, CPA, or Attorney License required
  • 3 plus year’s relevant experience required
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, written, and communication skills.
  • History of successfully exceeding goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high sense of accountability.
  • Proficient and comfortable with office equipment (Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to understand and influence people.

Responsibilities

  • Establish contact with tax agencies to obtain information regarding members’ cases and facilitate the servicing process.
  • Draft and maintain detailed records in member files regarding communication with tax agencies in Customer Relations Management System.
  • Manage assigned case pipeline and correspond with federal and state tax authorities.
  • Provide direction to servicing team and support staff.
  • Review taxpayer financial documents to determine the best possible resolution in accordance with taxing agency guidelines, regulations, and the Tax Code.
  • Actively participate in Optima culture events and activities.
  • Follow company protocols to ensure the highest level of security to protect the members' Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Other duties as assigned.
