About The Position

Scrubs and monitors cardiac, vascular, interventional radiology and interventional neurology procedures. • Access site and symptom management, including sheath removal. • Takes emergency, after hours call (realistically 15 call shifts required at a minimum at present) • Schedules in and outpatients for all procedures. • Assist in admitting, recovering, and discharging in and outpatients. • Previous Cath Lab experience required. • 4 10 hr shifts a week, 6:30-17:00 • Priority to NJ ARRT license. • Must have CCL, Interventional Radiology, and Interventional Neuro experience and on call responsibilities. The techs in the lab are the 1st assist to the physicians so must be able to work independently.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Radiologic Technologist license in the applicable state.
  • Current RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology / Cardiovascular experience preferred.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred or required depending on facility.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and sterile technique.
  • Experience with digital imaging systems, fluoroscopy, and cardiovascular monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Operate and maintain fluoroscopy and radiographic imaging equipment.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, sterile fields, and necessary equipment before each case.
  • Monitor and document patient status during procedures, including vital signs and hemodynamic data.
  • Assist with scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
  • Administer contrast media and medications as permitted by facility policy and state regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and procedure documentation.
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations and assist with life-saving interventions when needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, weekend, holiday, and extended-hour coverage as required by the assignment.
  • Adapt quickly to new environments, workflows, and facility protocols as a traveling healthcare professional.
