About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) within a clinical environment, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the State Boards of Nursing. This role requires the LPN to demonstrate professional and clinical knowledge pertinent to the specific clinical practice setting, delivering direct patient care in accordance with site-specific competency programs. The LPN is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating and communicating effectively with other licensed independent practitioners such as Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Key responsibilities include providing patient care and treatment, offering clinical support, and educating patients and their families, all while upholding legal and ethical nursing standards. The LPN is expected to manage their workload accurately, deliver excellent customer service, perform various tests, administer medications, and implement nursing interventions and care plans to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Furthermore, the LPN acts as a patient advocate, focusing on illness and disease prevention. This position may involve working in diverse settings including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Trade School Graduate-Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Valid LPN license in state(s) of practice

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in triaging, verifying medical information, caring for the patient's overall health, and working closely with the doctors and other team members
  • Experience in a hospital, home health, hospice, or our medical group

Responsibilities

  • Function under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting.
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing.
  • Demonstrate professional and clinical knowledge relative to the designated clinical practice setting.
  • Adhere to the level of verified competency dictated by the site specific program.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and communicate effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA).
  • Collaborate in providing care and treatment for patients, clinical support and teaching for patient and family members.
  • Adhere to the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  • Manage responsibilities of workload with accuracy.
  • Provide excellence in customer service.
  • Perform testing, medication administration and the implementation of nursing interventions and care plans.
  • Support a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Serve as patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease.
