Beloit Health System is hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Beloit Clinic Urology team located in Beloit, WI. Shift: 1st Schedule: 8a-5p Hours per week: 32 hours per week Benefits Status: Benefits Eligible Department: Beloit Clinic Urology This Licensed Practical Nurse in the Urology Clinic provides professional nursing services to patients in a clinic setting. The LPN will perform patient assessments through telephone triage and/or rooming patients. The Licensed Practical Nurse in the Urology Clinic will complete a variety of tasks including rooming patients, monitoring patient flow, triaging phone messages, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, administering medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures and/or treatments, maintaining the patient's medical record, stocking rooms and assisting with medical emergencies. The Licensed Practical Nurse in the Urology Clinic will: Assists provider with procedures and provides necessary nursing care and procedures as necessary Ensure consent is signed and dated for procedures and performs "Time out" with Physician/LIP when appropriate Assist Physician with examinations and/or procedures Administer medications ordered by Physician and update medical record after administering medication Maintain and update accurate electronic medical records(EMR) Perform telephone triage calls and provides follow up calls to patients Demonstrates the ability to navigate and perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software applications Receives and handles telephone calls to department and consistently uses good judgment and professional communication in accommodating patients' needs Ensures appropriate and adequate supplies are on hand Appropriately assesses basic physical psychological and social needs of patients and their families Provides patient and family education appropriately Strictly adheres to infection control procedures including body substance isolation and bloodborne pathogen precautions Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting, and providing medications to patients Protect patients from various hazards, falls, diseases exposures, etc. Participates in quality assurance activities initiates and maintains accurate electronic and/or paper medical records May draw blood and perform simple laboratory procedures and EKGs Assists with completing patient paperwork including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, etc.
