About The Position

We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Hillview Health Care Center.As an LPN, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and emotional well-being of residents through skilled nursing care, teamwork, and leadership. You’ll collaborate with staff and families while fostering a culture of respect, trust, and excellence in service. Overview FLSA: Non-Exempt. This a technical nursing position for the Long-Term Care Campuses of La Crosse County to which employees are appointed by the Director of Nursing Services. Employees work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a clinical perspective and a therapeutic approach in the provision of care and in professional relationships with residents.
  • Knowledge of medications and skill in their administration as the resident is prescribed.
  • Compliance with standards of nursing practice.
  • Compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate and determine work assignments of subordinate personnel and supervise their job performance.
  • Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Those persons driving must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver license and good driving record
  • Must maintain a valid Wisconsin nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as required by the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for nursing experience in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care within the provisions of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Under supervision of a registered nurse, provides direct nursing care including administering medications and treatments.
  • Assists in the training and orientation of new personnel.
  • Evaluates resident needs and assists with the development and implementation of nursing care plans.
  • Makes clinical observations of resident conditions and behavior and makes accurate and complete nursing notes of those observations in the clinical record.
  • Works safely and follows safety practices and standards of the facility; responsible for reporting or correcting any existing or potential safety or accident hazard.
  • Maintains residents' rights and confidentiality of resident information; reports all suspected cases of resident abuse to the Administrator.
  • Determines and supervises work assignments to provide maximum utilization of Nursing Assistants. Responsible to see that assigned tasks are accomplished.
  • Prepares daily shift reports and notifies supervisor of change in resident status.
  • Attends in-service education as provided or mandated.
  • Supports all aspects of person-centered care. Respects and acknowledges individuality and uniqueness of residents.
  • In this public service position, employee is required to be courteous, cooperative and respectful at all times, with the public and clients. Also establishes and maintains a courteous, cooperative and respectful working relationship with other employees, supervisors and public officials.
  • Employee is expected to report to work when scheduled, with minimum use of sick leave, to build up sick leave balance for income protection for unexpected illness.
  • This position is required to perform other duties as may be assigned or required.
  • Tasks assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids.
