Licensed Practical Nurse (McPike Addiction Treatment Center(NY HELPS)
About The Position
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, incumbents serve as members of a multidisciplinary team performing a variety of nursing and client care activities designed to ensure that clients receive all necessary care. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Medication administration and specimen collection; Attentiveness to patients' medical and other needs; Provision of nursing treatments; Gather patient measurements, signs and symptoms; Conduct building checks for safety hazards and ensuring patient safety; Crisis intervention; Complete documentation in patient electronic medical records, as well as staff communication logs and other required forms as needed; File patient record forms in the appropriate location within the record; Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- a license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State
- For permanent, competitive appointment, must be currently employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or eligible for transfer
- Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
- Mandatory overtime (MOT) is a requirement of this position.
