Licensed Practical Nurse /Medical Practical Nurse - Pediatrics - Queens Medical Group Join Queens Medical Group’s Pediatric team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and play a vital role in delivering specialized care to our pediatrics patients. Under the supervision of a provider and/or clinical supervisors, you will assist with procedures, patient education, and ongoing care management. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Licensure and registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State
  • BLS Certification with American Heart Association
  • Knowledge in Principles of infection control, performance improvements and delegation
  • Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
  • NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one-year of experience as an LPN
  • Previous experience in an outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Observes and records of progress, symptoms, reactions, complaints, interventions in the EMR as appropriate.
  • Reports changes in patients’ condition to provider.
  • May assist the office with answering incoming calls.
  • Gathers appropriate data for providers from patient prior to call hand off.
  • Contacts patients as delegated by provider to advise them of test results and/or relays physician instructions
  • Administers vaccinations and medications per scope and training as delegated by Nurse Coordinator or select healthcare provider
  • Provides direct patient care with scope and as delegated by the nurse coordinator or health care provider, such as phlebotomy, lab collection, catheter-associated urine collection, ear irrigation, vaccine and medication administration, wound care, and suture/staple removal
  • Patient Education: Instructs the patient and family on how to perform physician recommended preventative care.
  • Instructs patients on correct medication self-administration; provides educational materials as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties as required
