The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a safety-sensitive position that functions as a vital member of the healthcare team. Under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse, the LPN contributes to the success of the practice by providing comprehensive nursing care. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement care while maintaining a sharp focus on patient safety, clinical professionalism, and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing program (Required).
  • Current, valid LPN/LVN license from the State Licensing Board (Required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS (Required). Additional specialty certifications as applicable.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • 0–1 year of specialty clinic experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Direct Nursing Care: Perform basic and specialty-specific nursing care following established standards and practice guidelines.
  • Clinical Assessment: Collect and document patient data (vital signs, physical observations, stimulus response) and report findings to the supervising provider.
  • Treatments: Prepare and administer injections, perform routine diagnostic tests, manage wound care, and change dressings/bandages.
  • Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications; monitor, document, and report patient responses and treatment progress.
  • Patient Education: Convey vital health information to patients and families regarding health maintenance and the management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and timely patient files using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and automated documentation practices.
  • Quality & Compliance: Participate in the evaluation of patient care based on practice standards, HIPAA regulations, and federal/state laws.
  • Collaboration: Engage in multidisciplinary team initiatives to improve patient outcomes and clinic processes.
