PRN-A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehabilitation Smithfield is hiring for a PRN-A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their care team in the Smithfield community. This position requires working at least 4 shifts per 4-week schedule, with a minimum of 2 weekend shifts. The role offers flexibility and a starting pay rate of $35.00 per hour. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor, and is ultimately accountable to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Quality Care Management. The LPN is involved in planning and implementing nursing care, ensuring the emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents and their families, and assisting in the supervision of auxiliary personnel.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year LPN Nursing Experience in a Long-Term Care/Senior Living Facility (Required)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days (Required)
Nice To Haves
- 1 year LPN Nursing Experience (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to provider's orders.
- Allow resident choices within limits of capability, considering safety and dignity issues, and follow facility policies and procedures, including resident privacy and dignity.
- Assign duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs according to education, training, policy, and resident need to ensure quality resident care is delivered.
- Engage team members for optimal performance and address performance as needed.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, or modifications to the individual service plans.
- Identify changes in condition with proper documentation according to nursing practice standards.
- Demonstrate consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes.
- Utilize good judgment and specialized skills.
