This PRN opportunity is for an experienced nurse interested in Behavioral Health. The role provides patient/family centered care, acting as a partner and adviser to assist and support patients and families in optimally managing their health care, respecting their culture, values, individual needs, health goals, and treatment preferences. The nurse applies critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment, especially for patients with complex problems or potentially life-threatening conditions, using critical thinking in clinical problem-solving relative to their scope of practice, knowledge, competency, and experience. Responsibilities include assisting medical staff with preparation, examination, and procedures, such as interviewing/screening patients to obtain personal data and chief complaint, documenting for records, and taking vital signs. The position also involves performing telephone and in-person screenings, participating in recording and reporting responsibilities, and accurately and consistently documenting findings relevant to patients' health care status or plan of care in accordance with approved policies/procedures. The LPN prioritizes and documents patient incoming phone calls regarding medications and medical conditions, reviewing them with providers as needed for orders or changes. Additional duties include cleaning and stocking examination rooms and/or other supply areas, and documenting all patient care delivered in the medical record according to medical center policy.
