Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides paraprofessional nursing care in a high-acuity, inpatient correctional setting. The LPN performs nursing duties under the supervision of an RN, APRN, physician, or other authorized practitioner in accordance with South Carolina law.
Requirements
- Active South Carolina LPN license
- Completion of an approved nursing education program
- Ability to lift and assist patients
- BLS/CPR certification may be required
Responsibilities
- Provide practical nursing care to patients in an institutional setting
- Monitor patient conditions and document care accurately
- Administer medications and treatments within LPN scope
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members
- Follow all state, federal, and facility regulations
