Requirements

  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college/university or an approved LPN/LVN program
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN in Colorado
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience working with seniors is preferred and a desire to serve and care for seniors
  • Ability to make decisions and act in the resident's best interest
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with seniors in assisted living, home health, independent living, hospital, or long-term care environments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with seniors is preferred and a desire to serve and care for seniors

Responsibilities

  • Administer care for patients in assisted living communities, nursing homes, and skilled nursing facilities
  • Administer and document medications
  • Provide resident care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards
  • Facilitate Care Plans as directed by residents' medical professionals
  • At times, manage the activities of individual caregivers
  • Promote the highest degree of quality care and services to residents, following community policies
  • Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of residents
  • Maintain resident confidentiality
  • Become familiar with emergency equipment and procedures
  • Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
  • Maintain a safe working environment by preventing accidents and preserving equipment
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the community
  • Perform other duties as assigned
