About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide healthcare services to students in a school-based setting. The nurse will support the overall health and safety of the student population by administering medications, managing student health plans, providing first aid, and assisting students with chronic health conditions. This role may require supporting multiple school locations within the district to ensure consistent healthcare coverage.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program
  • Active California LVN/LPN license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • School nursing or pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience with student health plans and medication administration in school settings is a plus
  • Strong pediatric care and student health management skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to school health emergencies
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and school staff
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to adapt and work across multiple school locations

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students during school hours
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school health protocols
  • Assess and respond to student health concerns, injuries, and illnesses
  • Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and seizure disorders
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
  • Monitor immunization compliance and school health documentation requirements
  • Document health office visits, treatments, and nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents, and healthcare providers
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and 504 health plans
  • Support students who require specialized healthcare services during school activities
  • Provide first aid and respond to medical emergencies on campus
  • Support school emergency preparedness and health safety initiatives
  • Promote health education and wellness practices among students and staff
  • Provide nursing coverage across multiple schools as needed
  • Support school health offices when permanent nursing staff are unavailable
  • Help ensure consistent healthcare services across assigned locations
