Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN - Gastroenterology Clinic

You will work alongside a close-knit, collaborative clinical team supported by strong leadership, all within a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance both patient care and your professional growth. This role is expected to support our fast-paced Hepatology team within GI at Sanford. Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break! No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call!
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients.
- Documents a thorough medical history from patient.
- Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
- Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Counseling patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans.
- The LPN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
