General Summary The Cardiology LPN performs a wide variety of patient care activities and services to support the patients and medical practice. Works in close cooperation with the clinical team including; physicians, APP’s, RN’s and other clinical support staff. Provides clinical care under the supervisor of registered nurses, APP’s and physicians.

Requirements

Current state license as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State License
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice
BLS for Healthcare Provider required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

Cardiology experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Processes patient phone calls/messages and routes to them to providers as appropriate
Provide tests results to patients along with any updates to current plan of care
Within scope of practice, completes nurse visits with patients to include; assessment, medication reconciliation, vitals and EKG, evaluation and implementation of clinical care plan as instructed by provider
Prescription refills
FMLA, Disability, Surgical Clearances and other forms
Coordination of outgoing clinical referrals
Patient education
Other clinical duties as assigned
